Design Brief
To appeal to a range of well-heeled local and overseas investors, the client requested for the interior of this showflat to be timeless and contemporary to reflect a cosmopolitan outlook.
“Our design team achieved an in-depth understanding of cultural connectivity and contextualization through this project. We mirrored the client’s desire to create a vivid combination of South-East Asian warmth and timeless classic in a contemporary setting.”
Design Concept
Our design concept for this showflat reflects Myanmar’s unique cultural affability with contemporary European classics.
Beginning from the living room, minimalist shelves are paired harmoniously with a vintage-style sofa reminiscent of the 1960s, while the dining area is steeped in a clean-cut contemporary furnishing. A metallic candelabra suspended over a glass table evokes simplicity while emphasizing the theme of timeless, modern elegance.
In the kitchen and bathrooms, the experience of luxury was reinforced through an orchestrated blend of marble, dark-toned timber and stainless steel. Ambient lights illuminate all these spaces in a warm gentle glow. The large marble countertop of the kitchen was inspired by contemporary European design. We paired the cabinets with warm ceiling lights to provide an elegant experience for food preparation and cooking. And in the bathroom, the simplicity of white marble wall and porcelain fittings are juxtaposed with the warmth of a wood and brown marble floor.
In the bedroom, we brought warm tones and comforting touches together by using neutral to dark shades of Burmese teak. These are paired with tactile surfaces and vibrant colors, carefully articulated through a combination of contemporary furnishing and zesty abstract paintings. The outcome was an snug sanctuary for the residents where the worlds of comfort and zeal come together effortlessly.
Our design team achieved an in-depth understanding of cultural connectivity and contextualization through this project. We mirrored the client’s desire to create a vivid combination of South-East Asian warmth and timeless classic in a contemporary setting. Our experience here has broadened our portfolio of residential interiors and provided invaluable experience in tackling international design projects.
