Project 3 Storey Detached House in Upper Thomson Road, Singapore
Client Couple in their late 50s with three children
Date 2018

Design Brief

A house for a family of 5 , the brief was to create an interior design that exudes luxury in a chic contemporary setting. As the couple owns a family business of beauty products, they wanted a home that exudes sophistication with a warm atmosphere. The husband has a passion for sports cars and working out at the gym.

Design Concept

Our interior designer, Joshua looked to the lifestyles of his clients and sought inspiration from various luxury items and products to derive a befitting design concept for their new dream home.

After studying various designs of high end watches, apparel and luxury hotels along with the tastes of his clientele, an understanding of their needs were narrowed down into a theme of understated luxury and elegance, spearheading the direction of yet another mission and adventure to achieve his client’s dreams of a beautiful abode.

To articulate the concept of understated luxury and elegance in a modern-contemporary format, a careful selection of color palettes and textures were chosen to express the vision of our clients. High, dark marble panels paired with mirrored glass were used in the main living room to portray sophistication and modern-chic, while white marble panels in the function room are paired with a palette of gold and bronze hues to create spatial qualities of airiness and joviality. Bedrooms, on the other hand, are fitted with warm tones through a careful selection of timbers and lighting elements to create a cosy respite. Furniture pieces were also customized with a high degree of personalization for the clients.

Constraints

As with all projects, a balance had to be struck between the given budget and selection of materials to remain achievable, practical, and up to the client’s high standards. However, it is evident that our interior designer Joshua rose to the challenge and surpassed expectations, overseeing the entire conception to construction of the project, eventually meeting his clients’ expectations of a home sweet home.

Client Testimony

“We’re very happy with the delivery of the project, and Joshua even took extra care of small but important details in the workmanship at every corner, even for our custom-made furniture pieces. We will definitely want to work with Joshua again for our future renovations.”

Budget: $200,000

Timeline: 8 months
